After SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ won big at the Oscars, India has begun the process of finding its official entry to the Academy Awards 2024. As per reports, movies like ‘Balagam’, ‘The Kerala Story’, ‘Zwigato’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ are in contention.The process for selecting a film for India’s official Oscars entry has begun. Movies like Balagam, The Kerala Story, Zwigato and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani among others are in the race for the selection.
PROCESS FOR OSCARS 2024 BEGINS
As per reports by Hindustan Times, a 17-member committee headed by filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli has been reviewing all the entries while going through the screenings in Chennai. The committee has received over 22 entries from all over India.
A source close to the development tells the leading daily, “Some of the films, which have been sent to the Film Federation of India for Oscar selection, include names such as Anant Mahadevan’s The Storyteller (Hindi), Music School (Hindi), Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway (Hindi), 12th Fail (Hindi), Viduthalai Part 1 (Tamil), Ghoomer (Hindi), and Dasara (Telugu).
